The Victorian Women in Chemistry Group (WinC) has kicked off 2017 with a bang by hosting an event on the chemistry of winemaking and beer brewing. The event, held at the Monash University Green Chemical Futures building on the 9th of February, was extremely popular, boasting 60 attendees and having been booked out some weeks previously.
Nominations are invited for three awards offered by the Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology Division: the Adrien Albert Award, the Peter Andrews Award for Innovation and the Graham Johnston Best Thesis Award. Nominations for all three awards should be submitted by the 28th of February 2017.
In response to the US Presidential Executive Order: “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States”, The RACI expresses its support for the position of the American Chemical Society that scientists should be able to operate without restrictions to travel.
14 Bursaries available for students to attend the RACI Centenary Congress in Melbourne 23-28 July 2017 free of charge, including a payment of $500 to assist with ancillary congress expenses. Applications close 1 May 2017.
