Chemistry Food Aid Package - 31st May 17

The Victorian Chemical Education Group of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute proudly invites you to our ‘Chemistry Food Aid Package’ day.

This will be an outstanding professional development opportunity for chemistry teachers teaching the new Unit 4 course. Specifically you will:

  • Update your knowledge of the new areas of the chemistry of foods in the new Unit 4 study design

Presented by Dr Chris Thompson, Associate Dean (Education) & Senior Lecturer, School of Chemistry, Monash University; Chair – RACI Victorian Chemical Education Group

  • Try out three great new experiments on food chemistry for the classroom

Held in the new First Year Chemistry laboratories at Monash University

  • Hear the latest ideas for and advice on the student investigations and scientific poster and their assessment

Presented by Maria James, Science Manager, VCAA

  • Obtain a take-away package of excellent resources for teaching the new areas of food chemistry in Unit 4 of the new study design

These will include detailed laboratory notes; information on food chemistry; and great animations and PowerPoints

  • Network with experts-in-the-field and other teachers
  • Gain accreditation for professional development
