The RACI’s statement on the Indigenous Voice

The Royal Australian Chemistry Institute (RACI) accepts the invitation issued from the Uluru Statement from the Heart to ”walk  with us in a movement of the Australian people for a better future”.  The Uluru Statement calls for the establishment of a First Nations Voice enshrined in the constitution and a Makarrata Commission to supervise a process of agreement making and truth telling about our history.

RACI supports constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for an enshrined Voice to Parliament and Executive Government, to provide advice on policies and decisions that directly affect their lives and aspirations.

Our support reflects our strong commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity including promoting equality and equity for Indigenous Australians.

Ahead of the referendum we urge our members to be actively engaged at this critical time in Australia’s history.
