Dear RACI Victorian Branch community,

The time for Annual General Meetings is upon us for the Victorian Branch. I encourage you all to check the RACI website throughout October to see when the Specialist Groups are holding their meetings, and we will continue to announce the dates via email and on our social media accounts – LinkedIn and Twitter. All RACI members are eligible to attend any of the Group or Branch AGM’s, however registration is required. As you would expect under the current circumstances, all the AGMs will be held virtually this year. I also encourage you all to consider joining one of the Group committees, or indeed the Branch committee, by nominating yourself for one of the available positions when they are advertised. There will be a nomination form on the RACI website shortly that you can download and submit for the position you are interested in.

The Victorian Branch AGM will be held on November 10th at 6pm. Visit the website to register. We hope you can join us to hear about our year, and our plans for 2022!

The Victorian Branch Awards for 2021 are still open for applications. We have extended the due date for applications to October 10th, and you can either self-nominate or nominate a colleague. Visit the website to view all the Awards on offer and get your applications in soon!

I am sorry to report this month that we have been informed that one of our honorary members, Kenneth Weeks, has recently passed away. We send our condolences and best wishes to his family and friends at this time.

I will end this month’s letter on a hopeful note. As we know, Victoria is on track to come out of lockdown at the end of this month. Although it will likely not mean a return to in-person events for the Branch until next year, it is certainly a positive step that allows us to start planning for a return to some relative normal. At the AGM next month, we can give some insights as to what that will look like, and I hope to see many of you then.

Best wishes to you all!

Dr Susan Northfield
RACI VIC Branch President
