Congratulations to our Queens Birthday Honours recipients

Two highly credentialed and respected RACI members were recently recognised in the 2021 Queens Birthday Honours List – Emeritus Prof. John B. Bremner and Dr Hugh J. Cornell.

Emeritus Prof. John B. Bremner was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to tertiary education, and to biomedical science. A past President of the RACI Tasmanian Branch, Prof Bremner has held the position of Emeritus Professor at University of Wollongong since 2008. His many areas of specialisation include organic and medicinal chemistry,  molecular basis of dyeing, and anti-cancer agents. He is also a current member of the University’s Cancer Drug Research Team. To read Professor Bremner’s Honours Bio please click here.

Dr Hugh J. Cornell was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to biochemical research, and to tertiary education. A Fellow of the RACI, Dr Cornell is a retired Adjunct Professor in Biological Chemistry at RMIT University and has authored over 100 scientific papers and presentations. He is also co-inventor of Gluteguard, a patented preventive enzyme supplement that helps protect against symptoms caused by accidental gluten ingestion.
