Postgraduate Student Award

The Graeme Jameson Award is offered by the Australasian Particle Technology Society for the best paper by a postgraduate student in the area of Particle Technology at CHEMECA each year. The award is named in honour of the Society's founding president, Professor Graeme Jameson of the University of Newcastle. 2004 was the inaugural year for this award.

Entries will normally be from the Particle Technology sessions at CHEMECA, but may be from other sessions, provided the subject of the paper is essentially particle technology.

Judging: The best paper will be judged, by a panel of Society members and an external judge of international reputation in particle technology, on the basis of originality, clarity of written presentation, quality of science and potential practical value of the findings. A reference from the student's supervisor confirming the student's contribution to the research and the paper will be taken into account.

Nominations: Students may nominate themselves. Supervisors may nominate their student. In either case, please contact Society President, Martin Rhodes, by email before 19th August, attaching a copy of the final version of their CHEMECA paper and a letter from the supervisor confirming the student's contribution to the research.

The Award: The winner of the award will receive a cheque for $1000 and framed certificate. The award will be presented at the CHEMECA conference dinner.
