For Contributions to Chemistry and the Chemical Profession

There are a considerable number of chemists - members of the RACI - who make substantial contributions to chemistry and especially to the progress of the profession over a period of many years. To provide recognition of these contributions, the RACI has initiated a series of citations.

  • The Royal Australian Chemical Institute Inc. shall have an award entitled "The RACI Citation".

  • Up to three citations may be awarded in a calendar year.

  • The award of a citation shall be made for significant contributions to chemistry and the chemical profession.

  • Nominations may be submitted by Branches, Divisions or by two members of the RACI

  • Nominations for the award shall include a general statement of the nominee's contributions to chemistry and the chemical profession together with curriculum vitae and any relevant details of publications, patents and other supporting material.

  • The Board shall appoint an adjudication panel to consider nominations and to make recommendations. The Board reserves the right not to make an award if no suitable applications are received.

  • The adjudication panel's recommendations shall be based upon the significance of some or all of the following:

    • Contributions to research, development or applications of chemistry,

    • Contributions to chemistry in other disciplines or technologies,

    • Contributions to chemical education,

    • Contributions to the promotion of chemistry, and

    • Service to the RACI

Nominations should be forwarded to the RACI National Office, 1/21 Vale Street, North Melbourne, Victoria 3051 by the closing date.

Applications close 5 pm Eastern Standard Time on 30th April each year. It is recommended that nominations are submitted by email (awards@raci.org.au). Receipt by National Office of each nomination will be acknowledged.
