| The Medal shall be awarded annually to a financial member of the RACI who, in the opinion of the Board of the RACI has contributed significantly towards the development of, or innovation through, applied research, or in industrial fields. This contribution shall be judged on evidence submitted to the adjudicating panel (who may seek referees' reports). Each year the Applied Research Award may be named after a distinguished RACI senior applied research chemist, who most usually has been a RACI medal winner. The name, which has to be approved by the Board, is chosen by the Adjudicating Panel of the Award. The work shall cover the period of 10 years preceding the awards, with the major proportion of the work having been done in Australia or its Territories whilst the candidate was a financial member of the Institute. The candidate shall be and have been a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute Inc. for at least three years. Nominations together with supporting documentation from the candidate and/or referees, must be forwarded by Branch Secretaries to the RACI National Office, 1/21 Vale Street, North Melbourne, Victoria 3051, no later than 5 pm Eastern Standard Time on 30th April. It is recommended that nominations are submitted by email (awards@raci.org.au). Receipt by National Office of each nomination will be acknowledged. After that time, no further nominations for the award shall be received. If in the opinion of the Board there is no candidate amongst those nominated who has sufficient merit, the Board may refrain from making an award. Back to top |
