We are pleased to announce the first Bioactive Discovery and Development Group Dinner for 2012 which will be held in conjunction with the Women in Chemistry Group. These dinners are excellent opportunities to meet with chemists from the private and public sectors, and to hear an informal talk from an eminent speaker; while enjoying fine food in pleasant surroundings.

Scholarly Publishing: How Do You Please Everyone?

Jenny currently publishes the chemical sciences journals at CSIRO PUBLISHING. Her talk will focus on today’s rapidly changing scholarly publishing environment. The current shift from print to online publishing and issues surrounding subscription versus open access models will be explored. The last part of her talk will focus on the role women play in chemistry, including the problems they have faced historically, the problems they face now, and a celebration of their current success.
