2012 South Australian Physical Chemistry Symposium

The 2012 South Australian Physical Chemistry Symposium was held on December 3rd, 2012, at the University of Adelaide, and brought together 55 researchers in physical chemistry for a successful day of research talks and discussions. [final program]

The symposium was sponsored by the SA Branch of the RACI, the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences at Flinders University, the Ian Wark Research Institute of The University of South Australia, and the School of Chemistry & Physics of the University of Adelaide.

Speakers included:

Prof. Vince Craig (Australian National University): "Salts, bubble coalescence, specific ion effects and life".
Prof. Magnus Nydén (Ian Wark Research Institute, University of South Australia): "Recent progress in the nuclear magnetic resonance diffusion technique for studying diffusion in porous materials".
Dr Chris Gibson (Flinders University): "Techniques for enhancing the accuracy and resolution of measurements made with the atomic force microscope".
Dr David Huang (University of Adelaide): "Excursions in computational nanoscience: from nanofluidics to photovoltaics".

2013 RACI Physical Chemistry Division Conference

The 2013 RACI Physical Chemistry Division Conference will be held in Hobart, Tasmania, from December 4th to 6th, 2013, and will be preceded on December 3rd by a one-day computational workshop. [pdf version]
