JCEC PLANT VISIT TO THERMO FISHER SCIENTIIFIC (May 2011)

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is the world leader in serving science, enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. With an annual revenue rate of more than $10 billion, the company employs over 30,000 people and serves over 350,000 customers within pharmaceutical and biotech companies, hospitals and clinical diagnostic labs, universities, research institutions and government agencies, as well as environmental and industrial process control settings.

The format of the evening was:
5:30pm Meet at Front Office
5:45-6:15pm Introduction and Product Overview
6:15-7:00pm Tour of Factory
7:00-7:30pm Question and Answer time with refreshments and nibbles.

IChemE workshop: Safety in design (3rd June 2011)

The seminar will highlight issues raised with leaders of the chemical and processing industries in the United Kingdom and aims to highlight lessons to be learned for Australia. The seminar will also address the local issues in South Australia from a government and industry perspective. See flyer for more details.

JCEC Technical Meeting in Conjunction with IYC 2011 (Wednesday 6th July 2011)

To celebrate IYC 2011 a public lecture on 'Is the Plastics Age Over?' will be given by Professor Robert Burford, FIEAust CPEng, Head of the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of New South Wales.
